FAQ
Apple users know how terrifying it is when their iPhone or iPad runs out of storage space, making them unable to take more photos or record videos. No matter how much storage your device has, there is no way to expand it further. When you run out of storage space, your only choices are to stop capturing moments or frantically delete old photos, videos, and even apps to free up storage. With iXflash, you no longer have to worry about this.
When you take photos or record videos using iXflash, they are saved directly onto the iXflash device instead of taking up any internal storage on your iPhone or iPad. This allows you to capture far more photos and videos without the fear of running out of space. Additionally, the iXflash app's recording feature includes a pause/resume function, enabling you to create a single, seamless video file instead of multiple clips. Don’t let your iPhone or iPad’s storage limit prevent you from capturing every beautiful moment!
Whether you're a casual documenter of life or a professional photographer, iXflash offers a variety of storage capacities—ranging from 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB, all the way up to 512GB—to meet your needs.
iXflash Cube – Your Backup Companion
If you know how to charge your device, you know how to perform a back-up! Simply connect the iXflash Cube in-between your charging adapter and the cable, then backing up your photos, videos, and more becomes effortless.
With a user-friendly app interface, setup is only required once. After that, every time you charge your device, it automatically backs up your content —so simple that all people, old and young, can use it with ease. Let iXflash Cube take care of your backup needs in the simplest way possible.
Having been in the storage industry for years, we know that there are countless memory cards on the market, but their quality varies greatly. Even well-known brands don’t always guarantee reliability. If you use a low-quality microSD card, it could cause data corruption and irretrievable loss of content. To protect users from catastrophic risks, iXflash and iXflash Cube are designed with tested high quality built-in microSD cards, making them an all-in-one solution.
How do we ensure quality?
As a professional storage device manufacturer, we have developed specialized equipment to rigorously test and inspect each product. Through strict quality control and full inspections, we ensure that iXflash and iXflash Cube deliver high performance and stability, providing users with a seamless and worry-free experience.
Apple users may be familiar with HEIC format.
When you take photos or videos on an iPhone or iPad, especially with dual-lens cameras or Live Photos enabled, the files are saved in HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) format. This is an advanced compression technology that significantly reduces file size without sacrificing quality. Without this compression, videos would take up a huge amount of storage, quickly filling up your device’s memory.
However, Windows does not natively support HEIC compression. When you transfer files directly from an iPhone or iPad to a Windows computer, the system automatically converts HEIC files to MOV format, which decompresses them and makes them larger.
So, the reason your backup files appear smaller isn’t that we’ve reduced their size—it’s that the original iPhone/iPad files are already optimized for storage. If you also have a MacBook, you’ll notice that the file sizes there match those on your iPhone/iPad.
Want to keep the original file size on Windows?
Go to Settings → Photos, find the "Transfer to Mac or PC" option, and change it from Automatic to Keep Originals before transferring files to your computer. This will ensure that Windows receives the files in their original size.

Since Apple’s photo and video formats are not natively compatible with Windows, iXflash and iXflash Cube include an option to convert all photos and videos to a more compatible format, like JPG, during the backup process. By enabling this option, you can ensure that your backed-up photos will be easily accessible on Windows based computers.
For videos, the backup retains the original HEVC (H.265) format used by iPhones. However, Windows' built-in Windows Media Player does not support this format. To play these videos, you can download a compatible media player, such as VLC or KM Player, which fully support HEVC playback.
